Memories

Aren't memories really strange? You can have a memory and it triggers another and another. Some are sad and cause tears. Some are happy and make you want to go back to that moment. It really is amazing. I remember a lot, from a very young age. My parents can't believe how much I remember, yet I can't remember why I walked into a room! Haha!
When my kids say, "mom, remember this or that. It was so much fun." It makes me want to go out and do something again. I love how their faces light up. They get all excited and want to tell their story. I them to always have great memories of their childhood. I want them to know we loved them and loved being with them. Whether it's the park, walking to get an ice cream cone or going all out to an amusement park, I love spending time with my family.
I remember before my great grandma passed away we would take turns sitting with her. She had so many stories to tell. About the past when she grew up and when she had her kids. That was one of my favorite things to do. Sit and talk. I could sit there for hours. She was so funny and optimistic. I want to be like that. She went through some hard times, but she always smiled and didn't really like to dwell on that. She would say, "let me tell you something..." and would go into a great story. Now I have memories of her sharing her memories with me.
Make sure you make memories. It helps people get through when you're gone. It helps people to think positive about you. It does good for you. Tell me about some great memories you have. I'd love to hear them!
